On to Something

Remember in college, when people would hang anything up to cover their windows? Maybe they were onto something.

I've been spending a lot of time in our living room since the baby was born. I kept finding myself staring at the curtains on the sliding glass door wishing for a change. I did not want to spend a bunch of money and since curtains can get pricey, I just continued to live with the old curtains.

The other day I was in Target, shocking I know, and found this beautiful table cloth. I'm sure you can see where I'm going with this. The nice thing about table cloths is that they are bigger than average curtains, so I only needed two to get full coverage on the sliding glass doors. We already use the clips to hang the curtains, so this was as simple as unclipping the old ones and throwing these ones up. (*Side note: I saved 15% on the table cloths by using the Target Cartwheel app on my phone. If you don't already use it, you need to download it!)
I'm debating whether we'll need something to line them when the cold weather comes, but we're good for now.

Now I just want a few new throw pillows and to maybe recover the ottoman... we'll see :)

Do you have any other inexpensive curtain options? I used a bed sheet for a shower curtain, and now the table cloths for the windows. I'm open to more suggestions!

Thanks for reading,
Kathleen

    1. Thanks Tracy! The print is beautiful and they really lighten up the room. It should be pretty easy to line them as it gets colder :)

  3. I seriously love that you put up a tablecloth as curtains! Why not... especially when they're as pretty as that one! Awesome way to use what you love.

  4. I use beautiful cloth shower curtains that I find at HomeGoods, Marshalls, Ross, or T.J. Max. I then find the expensive looking metal shower curtain hooks at the same places & hang the curtains on a colored dark green, gold, or silver shower extention rod from Big Lots!! Instead of opening & closing my master bathroom door, I have a gorgeous burgundy ribbon like material shower curtain with a pocket to slide a cheapo curtain extention rod (Target has them cheap) through!! I've done this on my laundry room that has no door also!! ♥♥
